The Optical Mouse

The Optical Mouse

Hello, I'm going to tell you something more about one of the most important piece of hardware that you will need when you use a computer. The mouse. For now I'll tell you how the Optical Mouse works. This is the most used mouse at this moment.

An optical computer mouse uses a light-emitting diode and photodiodes to detect movement relative to a surface, unlike amechanical mouse which has a ball which rotates orthogonal shafts which drive chopper wheels (for example, gray code encoders) for distance measurement along each axis.

The earliest optical mice detected movement on pre-printed mousepad surfaces, whereas the modern optical mouse works on most opaque surfaces; it is usually unable to detect movement on specular surfaces like glass, although some advanced models can function even on clear glass. Laser diodes are also used for better resolution and precision. Battery powered, wireless optical mice flash the LED intermittently to save power, and only glow steadily when movement is detected.

You have a lot of different optical mouses but for this time I only teach you the basics.
More will be following.

IF YOU GOT SOME MORE QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS, FEEL FREE TO ASK THEM.
THESE ARE ONLY THE BASICS AND THERE IS ALOT MORE TO LEARN ABOUT.
I'M NOT PERFECT AND THIS BLOG ISN'T TOO BUT I'M OPEN FOR SOME CRITISISM.
